first shooting test shots
Shown above are screen captures from my test footage. I filmed this over 4 hours with the intention to use within my trailer. I filmed all the scenes at the minimum of twice of the exact same type of shot.
The screen grabs below show my favourite shots.
This shot I found quite successful because of the way the actor's claws really dig into the bark of the tree, and the way in which the bark pings off from how harshly he is running his 'claws' into it.
In this shot, I feel the contrast of the quite white nails of the 'wolf' character, against the dark autumnal leaves works very well.
The problems I faced filming my main character running through the woods alone came from how fast she was moving. My camera struggling to keep her in focus, throughout her running, and as soon as her face came recognisable, it completely lost focus.
Another problem I faced was trying to keep my actors looking scared. My main character's face was too blank and not looking fearful enough.
overall I do not feel this was a very successful filming day.
The natural lighting was changing far too much for the filming to look slick and interesting.
I feel that the use of unnatural lighting would help in this, and possibly film within twilight?
